10 years time?
I went on an amazing “walk” recently with my colleague Rosalind who does a unique combination of coaching and walking. You can check out her website here. This particular walk was actually the first Netwalking session we ran which aims to network people whilst they enjoy fresh air and some exercise. And things shift around surprisingly quickly when you do this!
Rosalind and I were chatting to a lady who was struggling to make some seemingly simple changes in her life. Rosalind suggested the simplest of exercises which I am sharing with you now.
Is there something you want to do differently, start of perhaps stop doing? Perhaps there might be a couple of things?
Take a pen and paper and write down, what life will be like in 10 years time if you do make those changes. What can you see, hear and feel? How will life be different in 10 years time if you make these changes now?
Now think about what life will be like in 10 years time if you don’t make these changes? What will life be like then?
Simple eh? But if we don’t put down in black and white, the future scenarios and possible outcomes, they just don’t come to sufficient light for us to see them clearly.
You might not see that many differences between the two possible futures. If that’s the case, then perhaps that’s why you are not making these changes – and understanding that is very helpful.
This is a simple but very powerful idea which will raise awareness and perhaps allow some change to occur. Thanks Rosalind.
